RESTAURANT "AFRICA": Via Gaeta 26, Rome tel. 06/4941077.
Located in the Castro Pretorio, between Termini Station and the University campus, which includes the National Library and the Hospital.
The restaurant's cuisine is characterized by the presence of local bread, very special, which is a bit 'of course (in the sense that all foods are prepared above) of beef, which is the host, and a strong presence of various spices, which make tasty but very spicy. The menu consists of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. Among the starters, there's sambusà, a sort of crunchy ravioli, stuffed with beef, vegetables and spices, really good, the falafel, ie balls fried chickpeas and spices, very good but obviously pesantucce, and much more ... The main dishes (zighinì, Sprisse, tibs ...) are composed of a bed of bread on which they are prepared pieces of meat (especially beef but also veal, lamb and chicken) and various vegetables, with lots of spices to flavor the whole, but also all vegetarian falafel and a plate. Of course, everything you eat with your hands, using bread. The drinks are almost all Italian wines: Various cola cola, beer, the ubiquitous lemon. The only novelty is made up of some exotic fruit juices (pineapple, mango and guava) and the coffee made in the manner of Ethiopia.
